Suitably termed as the “ AEC Class' 88 Foundation”, this is a journey of the Assam Engineering College batch of 1988 not only in extending bonhomie amongst the batchmates but also in making a mark by carrying out  charitable missions. This Foundation is the epitome of poise and gaiety and will surely be remembered for its rich heritage and golden legacy in the years to come. 

On one hand providing an opportunity to meet/socialize with friends and families to create a balance in our professional lives and on the other hand contributing towards many facets of welfare activities to the students of its Alma Mater, the engineering fraternity and also to the society in general. 

It all started through some casual discussions with the desire to have a reunion of sorts amongst the families of this batch. One thing led to another culminating into the forming of this Foundation. Not wanting to rest on its laurels of successfully holding successive reunion meets in 2012 & 2013 (Silver Jubilee), forays were made into the field of charitable missions and after that there has been no looking back. Growing from strength to strength under an able leadership and a core group of ever ready enthusiastic batch mates, this foundation has made notable contributions towards the welfare of different strata of the society. 

Notable activities of the Foundation include help & contributions to the needy like orphanages, Old Age homes, Cancer care centres, schools; providing training on Skill development, animal husbandry sector, weaving and spinning, tree plantation, yoga etc. These are in addition to providing help and assistance to its Alma Mater (Assam Engineering College, Jalukbari) in the form of infrastructure developments and various annual awards to the needy and talented innovative students (A more detailed description of the various activities is available in the “ACTIVITIES” Section). 

This ship continues to sail ahead with full speed in search of deserving causes that needs its helping hand. And this has been possible only because of the overwhelming support of the members of this foundation either in form of financial contribution or sparing their valuable time to work for the society. Being of service to others is what brings true happiness is an apt motto for the group members.

• Objects of the Trust are: 
• To work for improvement of quality of Technical Education in Assam in general and expansion of Technical education in Assam. 

• To work for improvement of basic infrastructure at Assam Engineering college, jalukbari, Guwahati,781013. 

• To encourage meritorious student of Technical Institutions of Assam in general and AEC in particular. 

• To help needy and brilliant student of Technical Institutions of Assam in general and AEC in particular. 

• To serve the community and State with Technical expertise in various field of Engineering and Humanities. 

• To run or serve the Orphanage Homes/ Old age Home situated within the country.

•  To organize Lecture, seminar, Workshop etc. on various subjects of technical interest for the benefit of the country in general and the State in particular. 

• To work for skill development among young/ unemployed engineers or young peoples of the state. 

• To help any member of AECIAN, 1988 pass out at distress. 

• To work for betterment of weaker section of the society, like Child, Woman, or Senior citizen.
